  Abbott's Perclose Device

Upon completion of the procedure, sheath removal and closure are performed. With the sheath still in place, the tract is dilated up after more local anaesthesia is given so that the closure device does not catch on the subcutaneous tissue.

It is important that the operator is familiar with the closure device available along with alternatives and medical options should hemostasis be problematic.
