    Performing the diagnostic angiogram:
After consenting and preparing the patient, femoral arterial puncture and sheath insertion are performed. The guidewire is then advanced to the level of T12 and a pigtail catheter is introduced over the wire with fluroscopic guidance. Throughout the entire process, visualization of the wire and catether location is required. Once the catheter is in a satisfactory location, contrast injection occurs while cine digitial subtraction fluoroscopy is deployed. Optimal results are obtained if respiratory artifact can be minimized.
